2007 Raymond family camping trip-PART TWO= Mackinaw City, Michigan
Mackinaw City here we are! We found our campsite at Teepee campgrounds. We did some shopping in the cute downtown. Cassy took her bath in the camper sink, which she loved. The view of the Lake from our campsite was beautiful.

We took a day trip to do some black cherry picking. The winds from the Lake were chilly. The cherry trees were beautiful and full. The cherries were delicious.

We took the ferry from the mainland to Mackinaw island to visit all the sites. The don't allow motorized vehicles on the island so we brought our bikes and Burley. It was a great way to get around the island to see everything. We shopped the downtown, bought some fudge to take home. We saw some famous and historical buildings and houses. The Grand Hotel and grounds were the most spectacular of all.

2007 Raymond family camping trip-PART ONE= Door County, Wisconsin
We just got back from the 2007 Raymond Family camping Trip. We went to many different places in Wisconsin(Door County) and Michigan(Mackinaw City/island). It was a wonderful trip to share with family. Bryan, Kelly, Cassy, Rob, and Pam borrowed a friend's pop-up camper to use for the trip. We were troopers.
Keith, Heidi, Mikala, Noah, and Nicolas joined us for the first part of the trip..... at Pennisula State Park in Door County, Wisconsin. The State park and campgrounds were all connected by bike and hiking trails. We took the Burley and Cassy everywhere we went. It was a great purchase on our part. Mikala always wanted to take part in pushing the stroller where ever we went. She was a great helper.
During an afternoon, Bryan and I took a short bike ride on the trail to visit the old lighthouse in Pennisula State Park. The building was incredible.

The bike trail was also.

The next night we biked to a small shelter where the state park has bat houses. We sat and waited until dusk.... to see the masses of bats exit from their houses to explore the park. The kids all had a great time anticipating when they would come out.

We took many hikes to the beach to see the beauty. We also saw a deer along the way. The kids wanted one last dip in the water... so they searched for gems and rocks.

The next day we took a trip to the sand dunes outside of town. We set up a small shelter to get out of the sun and avoid any sunburns. The family really relaxed. Lake Michigan was so chillin to be in, but the sun was so warm. I think the water was about 50degrees. It was a nice cool off from a hot day.

We went into town that night for dinner. We walked thru the town of Fish Creek.... and went to some little shops with touristy stuff. The little town was really neat. We walked down to the harbor to see all the huge boats docked.

Cassy had a small crush on Keith during the trip. Everytime he was around, she would get shy and cuddle in. It was so adorable.
